Doubles: how to pick a partner you will still like at kilometre eight

The best doubles pairs are not the two fastest athletes. They are the two whose weaknesses do not overlap.
Complementary stations
If you both hate the wall balls, one of you is doing them tired. Pair a strong presser with a strong puller.
Matching run pace
Runs are the one part you cannot split. A thirty second per kilometre gap will cost you more than any station.
The honest conversation
Agree before you enter what the day is for. A podium attempt and a first finish are different races, and finding that out at kilometre eight is too late.
